Hi, I'm Mer.
I want to chat with you about mental health solutions.
You may have noticed that stress, negative thoughts, and unresolved trauma can creep up on you and take on a life of their own. This can cause normal situations to seem intensely overwhelming and draining. Sometimes people think that if they ignore it, it’ll go away by itself. As you know, it doesn’t, and it often gets worse.
If you feel stuck or confused in your relationships, career, or mental and emotional health, this is an opportunity for learning and growth. Know that you don't have to do this alone and that there is great strength and courage involved in reaching out for help. I'm here to hold a safe, non-judgmental space for your journey of healing and self-discovery.
During each private counseling session, we'll begin by discussing conscious and unconscious themes and patterns in your life, as well as your thoughts, emotions, and goals. This will help you to identify how you are feeling and showing up in your life while releasing stress through catharsis.
Then, we'll engage in an experiential process combining somatic psychology techniques, breathwork, meditation, and hypnotherapy. These holistic, body-oriented practices can help you rewire the brain and regulate your nervous system so you can manage anxiety, cultivate healing, and resolve trauma on a core level.
By the end of each session, you'll often feel more resourced, relaxed, grounded, and experience a greater range of breath. This is a collaborative, generative process that lends itself to more clarity, mental flexibility, resilience, and authentic happiness.
Here's what's included when you're enrolled as a client:
You have text messaging and email access if you have questions or need support in-between sessions. All of your information is held in confidentiality.
You get access to an online calendar so you can book sessions at your convenience. You can choose in-person, phone, Skype, What's App, and Facetime sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Sessions are typically 60-minutes long, but you can always upgrade to a longer session.
You receive a library of guided meditation Mp3 recordings to use in-between sessions to help you stay grounded and relaxed.
You'll learn holistic tools and practices to integrate into your day to day life to reinforce the healing from our sessions.

This is for highly motivated people who are willing to take responsibility for their own well-being, even if you don't quite know how.
This healing process can facilitate a renaissance or metamorphosis in your life. But it requires effort on your part. If you're ready to make a profound change in your life, let’s roll up our sleeves and collaborate! Your whole life can change if you're willing to look within yourself.
While I don't work with people who are currently engaged in substance abuse, addiction or an eating disorder, I do work with people who are in recovery. If you have at least 1 year of sobriety, you're welcome to apply for a consultation.
At this time, I'm enrolling new individual clients as well as couples.
Happiness Clinic is LGBTQ-IA, POC, immigrant, non-binary, female, and male-friendly.
All clients must be at least 18 years old.
Pro Bono Counseling:
I offer a limited number of no-cost (free) counseling sessions and text chat mental health support every week for refugees, people dealing with immigration-related crisis, and black lives matter protestors. I don't work directly with insurance companies. Most clients pay out of pocket or with an HSA card. If your insurance plan offers reimbursement, I can provide you with a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance company.
Who this is not for...
If you don’t want to play an active role in your well-being, or if you want to blame others for things within your own control, this might not be for you. We can't change other people, but we can always shift our own reactivity, our perception, and our own choices. I can definitely help you if you're open to this idea. These sessions take you through an engaging process of cultivating awareness, processing emotions, and implementing new choices. It requires you to show up with a willingness to evolve and thrive.
If you're currently engaged in substance abuse, addiction, or an eating disorder, I'm not able to work with you at this time. This includes consistent use or abuse of opiates and benzodiazepines. The only exceptions to this policy include marijuana, coffee, and nicotine addiction.
